The Boutonnière Guide

Boutonnieres are highly underestimated, and yet, such a cute staple for your groom, father, dad, best man, mother of the bride or groom; anyone who needs a pop of flowers. They are appreciated here, and deserve some of the spotlight, because of their little charm and overall petiteness. We like to call them mini bouquets, bouts, bouties, all the names. Some of our all time faves are seen here.

We will let you in on a secret. Emily our lady boss, came up with the most innovative, life changing procedure to pinning boutonnieres. Groomsmen sometimes catch their bouts coming off their lapel, or poking them. So, to avoid this Emily curated a way where we have two pins, place the bout on the outside of the lapel, start a pin on the underside of the lapel, and push forward through the front into the stems of the bout, and push down, through to the end of the stem. We do this with the other pin, just going the opposite direction, toward the base of the flowers in the bout.

We never get tired of the jokes, and faces some men we pin these on, like “good thing I’m not wearing white.” “Should I take my jacket off for this?” and many more that have made the books, but we promise you, it’s the most certified, safest, sturdiest way to pin your mini bouquet onto your handsome jacket.
